Science of Hockey Day presented by AEP
The Blue Jackets' Science of Hockey Day presented by AEP uses the sport of hockey as a learning vehicle to offer hands-on experiences that demonstrate the principles of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This year, more than 500 local students attended the event at Nationwide Arena!
Student Achievers powered by AEP
Student Achievers powered by AEP is an incentive program that rewards hard work and measurable improvement in the classroom. Students (K-12) that earned straight A’s or improved a full letter grade in a subject during a grading period were eligible to receive free game tickets.

Scholarships
The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation annually awards two scholarships of $10,000 each. These gifts are for students that show exceptional qualities both on and off the ice. This year, the High School Hockey Scholarship was awarded to Evan Mitchell from Dublin Coffman High School and the John H. McConnell Scholarship was awarded to Gahanna Lincoln High School’s Darin Fields.
Columbus Metropolitan Library
Through a partnership with Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation supported the Yellow Apron program that connects young readers with a volunteer buddy to practice their reading skills. This year, more than 1,700 hours were volunteered through this program.
